Work Experience Placements
The JET Academy work placement programme is coordinated by the Developing the Young Workforce Team within the City of Edinburgh Council and supports young people who attend local high schools to access extended work placement opportunities.
Work experience is an opportunity to introduce young people to the reality of working life within a willing organisation, to help them secure and sustain employment. By taking students on work experience, you get an opportunity to engage, inspire and inform young people about what working life is really like.
There are two programmes which form the JET Academy· JET Regular – for S4 summer leavers who undertake a placement every Friday from September to May· JET+ - for S5 Christmas leavers who undertake a full-time employability programme including placement several days per week from September to December·
They also support schools to access flexible placements throughout the year.
