This successful model supports job seekers with practical support to hone their applications, up-skill and directly access live vacancies and provides employers with tailored recruitment, training and job matching support from our experienced teams.
Established in 2019, in collaboration with St. James Quarter, the FUSE team has been instrumental in facilitating recruitment and training initiatives for a diverse range of Retail and Hospitality brands within the new shopping district and the wider city centre Business Improvement District (BID) managed by Essential Edinburgh.
The team offer tailored support to both candidates and employers; providing expert guidance on recruitment, training and an effective job matching service.
FUSE Recruitment & Skills Hub, links to the wider employability network across Edinburgh, enabling all jobseekers to access the vacancies in St James Quarter and the city centre; with the on-site FUSE team primarily supporting individuals who are currently employed but looking to progress their career through improved pay, increased skills and ongoing in-work support.

FUSE also engages with local schools and communities, to highlight the array of career pathways within the retail and hospitality sectors.
The Recruitment and Skills Centre (RSC) at Fort Kinnaird supports employers’ current recruitment and staff development needs and also Jobseekers to gain and retain employment in the area.
The RSC is a partnership with British Land (Fort Kinnaird) and the Joined Up For Business Partners including Capital City Partnership, City of Edinburgh Council, East Lothian Works, Jobcentre Plus, Midlothian Council, and Skills Development Scotland.
